Keep your device powered up with the right battery -

The right battery can make the difference between your cell phone, iPod, camera, camcorder or other electronic device being useful or a paperweight.

To determine which battery is best consider the following -

Nickel Cadmium (NiCD) batteries are the oldest type of battery available.  NiCD batteries weigh more than the other types but have the longest recharge cycle life if conditioned correctly.  If NiCD batteries are not fully discharged before recharging, memory effect can build up, limiting the capacity of the battery to the point it was drained before recharging.  Because of memory buildup, NiCD batteries should not be used with cigarette lighter adapters unless fully discharged.

Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries are the most common battery on the market.  NiMH batteries are lighter than the NiCD batteries and cheaper than Lithium Ion batteries.  NiMH batteries are memory free

Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) batteries are lightweight and long lasting.  Li-Ion batteries are light, slim, and provide the better talk time than NiCD or NiMH batteries.  The price drops in the last year make these the best choice of battery if available for your phone.

Lithium Polymer (Li-Poly) batteries are the newest, most popular type of batteries.  Li-Poly batteries are ultra light, slim, and provide the longest available talk time.  Li-Poly batteries are available for only a few phones but in our opinion are worth the cost if available.

Extended or Slim- Extended batteries provide longer talk and standby time than the slim units but are larger and heavier.   Slim batteries are small and light but can provide as little as half the talk and standby time of the extended batteries.

Milliamp Hours (mAh)- The capacity of a battery is the total number of amperage or watt-hours that can be withdrawn from a full battery under specified discharge conditions.  Battery capacity determines the amount of talk or standby time that your phone will have and is represented in milliamp hours.
